Beringer 2016 Founders’ Estate Merlot California
Beringer was founded in 1875 by Jacob Beringer who travelled all the way from Mainz,Germany to the United State. He noticed the rocky hillside and fertile valley soil are similar to his hometown’s so he purchased 215 acres of land in Napa Valley to start his own wine business.
With 140 years of long history, Beringer is now the leading company in the industry; it is also the first and only winery that is rewarded the annual best wine by Wine Spectator Magazine with both its red wine and white wine.
Insist on sustainable development
Beringer fully understand that it is necessary to look after the land if they want to produce fine wine continuously. In order to create a healthy environment for the grapes to grow, they attract beneficial insects, use natural organic fertilizers and the Trellis System to bring sufficient sunlight and air to the grapevines.
