On May 19th 2018, Prince Harry and Megan Markle had their world-renown royal wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, UK. The wedding ceremony cost them nearly 350 million Hong Kong dollars with Champagne Pol Roger served as the official champagne for the luncheon and famous guests like movie star George Clooney and former England captain David Beckham.

On 12th October 2018, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II- Princess Eugenie of York married wine merchant Jack Brooksbank also at St George’s Chapel.

In June 1911, Pol Roger champagne was served in King George V’s coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey, London.

Champagne with “Royal Warrant of Appointment”

In 2004, Pol Roger received the “Royal Warrant of Appointment” from the Queen and thereafter became the official champagne supplier for the royal family.

Former UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill's favorite

Sir Winston Churchill was so in love with the champagne that he even named his favorite race dog “Pol Roger”. As Pol Roger had a close relationship with Churchill, he sends a box of champagne to his home in Westerham, Kent every year as birthday gifts. Churchill died in 1965, and as a remembrance, Pol Roger named one of his champagnes after him- “Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill”

Wine Tasting Note

The champagne displays a golden straw color hue as well as continuous bubble, it first delivers the strong aroma of pear and mango, then highlights the fragrance of honeysuckle and white jasmine, lingering on vanilla, brioche and a bit minerality note, on the palate, flavors of honey mix with stone fruits like apricot.
