Background of the Winery

The Combier family’s Rhone Valley domaine dated back to 1936.The current generation of the family, Laurent Combier, is a hard-working and open-minded winemaker, and the wine he made from the Syrah grapes are full of vitality and elegance.

He strives to bring out the most natural flavor in the wine he makes. Since the 1970s, organic farming has been applied in the vineyards and no pesticide or artificial fertilizers are used, that made them the pioneer in the whole Crozes-Hermitage. Among them,Glos des Grives is the top red wine in the Combier family and it is also the masterpiece in the region.

Soil diversity

Domanie Combier Saint Joseph is made by the Combier family in the famous Rhone Valley.The vineyard is located on the granite stone of northern Rhône which is the perfect place to grow syrah and produce wine with high complex. The grapes are grown in the 2.5 hectare vineyard with old vines of 40 years old that gives the wine the classic minerality feature.

Wine tasting notes

Dark purple hue comes with the aroma of blackberry and black olive as well as spicy and vanilla flavor, full-bodied strong fruity note and well-structure with smoky and peppy finish.
